Colors

Aurora's color scheme started as merely black and white. As I was discerning a brand color, purple came to mind. Purple in biblical times was seen as an indicator of wealth or royalty. For Aurora, purple is a visual reminder of beauty and God's glory.

Beyond brand colors, I developed a palette of vivid and pastel colors to play a supporting role. These colors could be used as backgrounds for worship and teaching. These colors could also be used to signify specific ministries and add a splash of fun within the structured and professional design system.

Type

For type, I chose Archivo because it is a multi-axis variable font.  This gives me the ability to have specific font weights (more granular than regular and bold) are and font width (from condensed to expanded) while still having the same character..
